What We Bought from 2010 to 2018

MK Friends Shop next to the Hospital Restaurant

This was a time of all change for The Friends of Milton Keynes Hospital & Community as well as for the hospital. In 2015 the Friends Shop was moved from the old main entrance (now A & E entrance) to a smaller shop next to the Restuarant by the garden opposite the breast clinic.

Despite a massive reduction in income since the move and new shops in the current main entrance the Friends have stilled raised money to purchase items for patient care to the value of £304,300 up until the end of 2018 with over 40 areas within the hospital and in the community benefitting.

The areas the Friends funded included refurbishing the bereavement room; new furniture and decoration in the restaurant seating area and garden; birthing pool; over 45 wheelchairs; replacing all the patient examination beds in outpatients and many more things.

Over £570,000 rent has been paid by MK Friends Shop (2010-2018) to the hospital.
